After 14 years living in the UK, working for various wine companies and overseeing the export for Glenelly, Nicolas moved to Stellenbosch in early 2020 with his family. He is now in charge of all operations and works closely with his grandmother May de Lencquesaing and the team to further develop Glenelly Estate.

He believes that the dynamism and the growing quality of the South African wines, combined with the rich heritage of the Cape and the breathtaking beauty of the Winelands, makes South Africa the most exciting place to be at the moment.
What he likes, above all, is sharing his passion for Glenelly Estate and South Africa with wine enthusiasts across the world.

Heinrich Louw comes from a farming background, went to Elsenburg Agricultural College and fell in love with the wine industry and the Cape winelands. He started at Glenelly in January 2000, whilst it was still a fruit farm, and managed the development and renovation of this beautiful estate – from turning every brick and stone to planting every single vine.

The excellent quality of Glenelly’s grapes today is testament to the exceptional hard work and commitment of Heinrich and his loyal team of farm workers.

Glenelly's new winemaker, Lehandri, stadning in the barrel room holding a glass of wine

Although Léhandri grew up around the Cape Winelands, she didn't come with a background of wine. What began as simply just an interest in wine and winemaking very quickly developed into a passion, not just for wine but also the vineyards.

In 2019, she obtained her degree in BAgric Viticulture and Oenology at Elsenburg Agricultural College. Since then, she has worked at various Estates in South Africa (De Toren Private Cellar, Cederberg Wines, Tokara, and Damascene/Moya Meaker) as well as in Europe (Vassaltis Vineyards in Santorini, Greece, and Chateau La Gaffeliere in Saint-Emilion, France).

After all the traveling, she finally settled down with a love for Bordeaux varieties in Stellenbosch.
