After 14 years living in the UK, working for various wine companies and overseeing the export for Glenelly, Nicolas has moved to Stellenbosch in early 2020 with his family. He is now in charge of all operations and works closely with his grandmother May de Lencquesaing and the team to further develop Glenelly Estate.

He believes that the dynamism and the growing quality of the South African wines, combined with the rich heritage of the Cape and the breathtaking beauty of the Winelands, makes South Africa the most exciting place to be at the moment.
What he likes, above all, is sharing his passion for Glenelly Estate and South Africa with wine enthusiasts across the world.

Heinrich Louw comes from a farming background, went to Elsenburg Agricultural College and fell in love with the wine industry and the Cape winelands. He started at Glenelly in January 2000, whilst it was still a fruit farm, and managed the development and renovation of this beautiful estate – from turning every brick and stone to planting every single vine.

The excellent quality of Glenelly’s grapes today is testament to the exceptional hard work and commitment of Heinrich and his loyal team of farm workers.

Luke O’Cuinneagain grew up amongst the vineyards of the Constantia Valley and that is where his passion for wine and the vine was born. Always looking for new and innovative ideas, Luke travelled extensively after completing his studies, working at many of the world’s famous wine estates. After gaining valuable winemaking experience from Château Fieuzal (Bordeaux), Cave Dietrich (Alsace), Screaming Eagle (Napa Valley, USA), Château Angélus (Bordeaux) and five years at Rustenburg Estate, Luke joined Glenelly as winemaker in 2007.

In addition to his responsibilities in the cellar and the vineyard, Luke is also responsible for Glenelly’s sales in the domestic South African and neighbouring markets.

Lia was born into a family of restaurant, hotel, and wine store owners in France, hence her passion for wine was nurtured from a very young age. Her professional career started as a sommelier in various international Michelin star restaurants, where over the years she progressed to be a wine buyer for a prestigious group of hotels in the UK. Lia also gained valuable experience on the retail side, when she worked and helped open one of the best wine shops in the world. As her career unfolded, she fell in love with the South African wine scene, its terroir and fascinating history and the mesmerizing beauty of the landscape, she eventually started to be involved with it by overseeing the exports of a well-known winery in the Cape for 7 years before joining the Glenelly team in January 2020.
